			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 3 day diet is one of those trendy little diets that seems to be popular today. If you follow the 3 day diet correctly, you can supposedly lose upwards to 10 pounds in just three days. That seems like a lot of weight to lose in such a short period of time, is it healthy or even possible?</p>
<p>While its certainly possible to lose 10 pounds or even more in just three days, it’s probably not healthy, and generally not recommended by health professionals. The 3 day diet is invariably frowned on by nutritionists as being an overall a fad diet that is not very effective in producing sustainable weight lose. Sure you can lose 10 pounds in three days, but the chances are you’ll put it right back on again when you finish. </p>
<p>The 3 day diet isn’t really anything scientific or overly complicated. It’s basically just your typical calorie restricted diet. Most formulas for it involve three meals a day consisiting of very limited portions of low fat, low sugar foods. Some examples of a few of the meals recommended in the 3 day diet include half a grapefruit and one slice of toast for breakfast; a half a cup of tuna (no mayo) and a slice of toast for lunch; and a three ounce portion of chicken, two cups of vegetables and one cup of ice cream for dinner. </p>
<p>Like many diets, the 3 day diet recommends drinking 4+ glasses of water daily, and allows you to add any low calorie seasonings to your food, such as Worchester sauce, spices, mustards, vinegars, salt and pepper, soy sauce or ketchup. It also allows for drinking tea, coffee, or diet soda, so long as there is no sugar added.</p>
<p>So does this kind of 3 day diet plan work? Chances are you will in fact lose some weight if you stick to it. However, going from eating normal or oversized portions to eating the kinds of meals recommended in the three day diet is going to through your body’s metabolism for a loop. Essentially, you’ll be on starvation mode, and the moment you resume regular food consumption you’ll promptly start gaining wait again. </p>
<p>The recommendation to drink plenty of water is really the only thing the 3 day diet does right. Everyone should drink at least 4 glasses of water a day, whether dieting or not, and ideally should drink even more. </p>
<p>Overall, the 3 day diet is not the best diet plan. If you are otherwise healthy and just want to lose a few pounds for a reunion, wedding, or some other event coming up on the weekend, the 3 day diet may help, but in terms of an effective sustainable weight lose program its not going to help much in the long run.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Weight doesn&#8217;t just disappear. I think that almost everyone says that they could stand to lose or wants to lose 10 pounds. I am definitely one of them. I can honestly say that I could lose 20 pounds and it would be welcomed. No matter how much weight you want to lose, you have to be dedicated. Most likely, the fact that you need or want to lose 10 pounds is a result from decreasing your activity levels or eating more than you used to and your metabolism may have slowed down. Even celebrities and plastic surgery junkies who lose the weight fast have to fight like crazy to not put it back on. Face it, everyone wants to lose wieght quickly. To lose 10 pounds is certainly easier than losing a lot more than that, but it does take dedication and will power. No matter what the reasoning, you need to get moving! Exercise is definitely not my favorite word. In fact, it ranks up there with my least favorite words. But, even minimal exercise can help you lose 10 pounds more quickly than simply adjusting your eating habits. You will be amazed at how much better you feel once you do start to exercise and become more active.</p>
<p>A neighbor of mine and I walk 3 times a week. During the summer months when it is simply too hot, we might not make 3 walks, but we try to remain dedicated. If you can start to take short walks, or long ones, as many times a week as possible, you might start to lose 10 pounds faster than you imagined you could. You may be pleasantly surprised that you can lose wieght in a week.</p>
<p>Someone once told me that if I want to lose weight, just close my mouth. While that sounded a bit insulting at first, I realized that it just meant that I need to stop eating so much. I have a habit of eating when I&#8217;m bored, or when I&#8217;m feeling down and out. Heck, I have a habit of eating when I&#8217;m incredibly happy. Since I have gotten older and sit in an office all day long, I am not nearly as active as I was years ago. Of course, that means that I&#8217;ve gained weight. I simply needed to stop eating. I tried to substitute my snacks that I could not live without. Instead of potato chips, I found low-fat pretzels. I gave up the morning donuts and Tastykakes and settled for a banana and animal crackers. Sure, they aren&#8217;t as yummy but I know that it will help me lose 10 pounds much faster than stuffing my face with junk food. In fact, to lose 10 pounds may be incredibly fast for some people. I found that in order to help myself not want to eat, I needed to feel full. The best way to do that is to drink cold water.Lots of it. Since drinking more water means more bathroom trips, I am even moving around more often. Keep these thigs up and you&#8217;ll be losing wieght fast!</p>
<p>Figure out a game plan to lose 10 pounds. Dedicate yourself to it. Get moving more and you just may find that its easier to lose 10 pounds than what you think.</p>
